We’re in the double digits for months! I’m behind on posting my monthly update on Eloise, and I’ll blame that on my crazy busy schedule at work the last few weeks, exhaustion from no sleep and sick babies, and pure laziness.
Eloise is weighing around 24 pounds these days, and only wants to be carried around so my back and shoulders are sore all the time. She has 4 chompers on top and 2 on bottom and thinks it’s so funny when she bites our fingers.
She is hyper aware of everything Phoebe has and does, and wants so badly to keep up with her big sister. We’re starting to enter into temper tantrum territory, with screaming, crying, and throwing her whole body backwards being her main mode of communication when she doesn’t get her way. We think it’s just adorable, for now.
Her favorite foods are bananas, grapes, strawberries, yogurt, pizza, potatoes, toast with cream cheese, and she’ll try just about anything we put in front of her. Just a couple weeks ago we found out Eloise is highly allergic to eggs, so we’ll need to take her in for an “egg challenge” test to see how much egg she can tolerate, the extent of her reaction, and if she’ll need an epi-pen.
Another funny little thing she has been doing recently is chuckling/giggling at every thing she finds interesting and funny. It sort of reminds of Beavis and Butthead from the 90’s…Ha. Haaa. Ha. Ha. Ha. It’s very sort bursts of “ha’s”. I love it! She is also cruising around everywhere she possibly can, which is good because she can get to places easier but also gives me a heart attack sometimes, like when she is cruising along the concrete fireplace ledge or falls head first onto the floor. She is definitely my “gray hair giver”.
Eloise loves to read books now, whereas before she would only chew on them. She has discovered there are all sorts of fun pictures inside. Since Phoebe watches Frozen ten times a day, Eloise is in love with it too. We have some decals of Ana and Elsa by her changing table and she is completely enamored with them, otherwise she’s a bucking bronco when I lay her down for a change.
I used to compare Eloise and Phoebe at this age, but I’ve given up on that. They are two totally different babies, and it has thrown me for a loop! I love Eloise’s curiosity, energy, and adventurous spirit, and I love even more how well it is balanced with my artist Phoebe’s calm, cuddly, stay-by-my-side demeanor.
I am so lucky.
