Four months of this chunky monkey sweetie pie!
I’ll keep the tradition going and start this post with my “I can’t believe how fast time is flying by!” statement, because holy hell I can not believe how fast time is flying by! Seriously, I can remember the day I found out I was pregnant like it was yesterday.
So much cuteness with month four. Like I can’t even handle it sometimes and I just want to eat her up.
My favorite new thing is her love of grabbing and chewing on her toes.
Eloise is a champ at falling asleep on her own. When I had Phoebe, I always rocked her to sleep with a bottle. Fast-forward 2.5 years later, and I still have lay with her to fall asleep. I promised myself that I would try to let Eloise learn how to fall asleep on her own, and it really didn’t take that much effort or crying to get her to fall asleep by herself. In fact, Eloise isn’t too keen on being rocked or held in a laying down position, which leads me to the next new thing….
She is a screamer! Within this past week, Eloise has found her voice and knows just how to use it. If she’s the slightest bit upset or discontented with something, she will sound the alarm and let you know. Her voice carries throughout the house and it sounds like something is seriously wrong with her, but the moment you go to pick her up, she stops screaming and smiles nicely.
We haven’t started solids yet, and I think I’m going to hold off for another month or two. She’s perfectly content with nursing and I am fine with that.
Phoebe loves to hug, hold, sing to, and play with Eloise, and it makes my heart full with joy when I see Eloise smile and laugh at her. This is exactly how I hoped things would be between the two of them at this point.
Eloise is very curious about all of Phoebe’s toys and observes her very closely when she plays. She is starting to lunge herself towards objects she wants, and when Phoebe sees her going after her toys she gets a little possessive. Sharing is going to be a tough lesson for Phoebe. Even though she’s already gotten used to sharing me with Eloise, I think her toys will be harder to share.
We are loving watching Eloise and Phoebe’s relationship as sisters blossom. Seeing them interact makes me so happy. Excited to see what this next month brings!
