This little chunky monkey is 7 months old and ready to be on the move!
It’s amazing how quickly she went from sitting up to pushing herself forward into the crawling position to rocking back and forth, cautiously trying to figure out how to get her arms and legs moving. I have no clue how much she weighs these days, my guess is around 21-22 pounds but we’ll find out next week at her check up.
Eloise loves to eat yogurt and isn’t too crazy about purees. When I eat, she stares so hard at whatever it is I’m holding and begs with her big blue eyes to try a bite. Sometimes I’ll let her gum my food and she loves it. Her little hands and feet are constantly in motion. She rolls them around like little helicopters and when she sees something she is very curious or interested in, those helicopters start spinning in perfect unison. My favorite is when her whole face lights up and hands and feet go in motion once she sees my glass of water with a straw. She LOVES when I drop water into her mouth with a straw, like it’ll make her stop crying and happy when I do it.
Phoebe and Eloise are such cute playmates. Eloise cracks up at her sister at the littlest things and I love watching their relationship blossom. Eloise is so curious about everything around her, especially anything Phoebe is playing with. Eloise loves when Phoebe puts her head close enough to where she can grab fistfuls of her hair. The funny thing is that Phoebe will start yelling in a panic for me to help her, because she can’t figure out how to tame her crazy 7 month old sister.
Just a week or so ago, I discovered her first tooth and cut through on her bottom and she now has the second bottom tooth coming in! I think this might be the reason why she is up multiple times throughout the night. She wants comfort and of course I give in to her crying and nurse her. Her latest trick that she learned was the “How big is Eloise? Soooo big!” where she raises her short little arms up as high as she can with such a serious look on her face. It must take a lot of effort to get your arms above your head when your head is so big!
I feel like this past month Eloise has gotten even louder. Even when she was a newborn, I thought she was a loud baby compared to what I was used to with Phoebe. These days, she screams a blood curdling scream if I turn my back and walk away from her or to the other side of a room. She has to be in eye contact with me at all times, and it by the end of the day my brain hurts from hearing her scream so much. Car rides, getting dressed, having toys taken away by Phoebe, and not getting her food fed to her in a timely manner are cause for that blood curdling scream. I hope this is just a short phase!
I wish I could slow time down, as I say in just about every monthly update. I know that all too soon Eloise will be crawling, then cruising, and then walking, and her chubby little thigh rolls will melt away. The days of laying on her back with her legs straight up in the air, happily eating her toes are close to coming to an end. It makes me sad, but at the same time it is mind blowing to see how much she is learning and growing.
Until next month.
