I’ve been thinking about how I want to decorate the nursery room for baby #2 the last couple weeks, and I’ve finally found some ideas and inspiration to get me started. For my first pregnancy, we chose to not find out the gender so decorating was not as fun. We ended up with minty green walls and Winnie the Pooh stuff everywhere. Blah.
This time around is very different. We know that baby #2 is another girl and since I didn’t spend much on nursery decor for Phoebe, I have lots of work to do (and things to buy) to get the nursery ready. And when I say nursery, I am talking about the small corner of the my childhood bedroom that I am currently residing in at my parents house. I plan on starting out with small things like bedding, stuffed animals, and some wall art. I want to have a mixture of different soft and fun textures and fabrics, and unique but classic plush toys, blankets, and artwork.
Here are some things I’ve bought already and some things I plan on buying later on:
1.) Scalloped Stroller Blanket – Restoration Hardware has very muted, subtle, and easy-on-the-eyes patterns and tones. I love how simple but cute everything is. I bought this for baby #2 and had it monogrammed for just $7 extra.
2.) Flavia the Flamingo – Flavia is super shaggy, soft, and fun for little baby hands to get tangled in. It is currently out of stock at Anthropologie, but keep watching as it is a popular gift and they should restock it soon!
3.) Floral Bouquet Swaddle – I found this while searching for floral-y things on Etsy and I love it. The blanket is a bit smaller than most swaddles, but the beautiful print is worth it.
4.) Dollhouse Swaddle – the dollhouse print is adorable and can go with lots of different color schemes. They are huge and come in a 4-pack with other prints/solids as well.
5.) ‘E’ Throw Pillow – I love the font on this pillow and the shade of pale pink. The linen/cotton blend make it super soft. It’s a great way to add some subtle personalization to the nursery.
6.) Cloud Blanket in Dreamy Spring– how perfect is this for my spring baby? The cloud blanket is a signature design from IvieBaby on Etsy. There are tons of fabric designs to choose from to make the blanket fit with your style, and it is the softest, most luxurious feeling blanket your baby will have.
7.) Luxe Fur Heart Pillow – another Restoration Hardware find. The pillow is not too shaggy and perfectly soft. We love the different shades it comes in and it’s a great accent pillow for cribs or toddler beds.
8.) Fashionable Fauna Dolls– I bought baby #2 the bunny doll. Babies will love all the little embellishments to pull and chew on. It’s another unique and classic looking toy to add to any nursery.
