Hello my friends!
I did not fall off the face of the Earth, I promise. There has been a whole lot of stuff going on and not enough time to do much of anything these days.
Most notably, we finally moved into our home at the beginning of November! I am the type of person who gets stressed out and anxious when there is constantly clutter and a huge mess to look at. I’ve been spending every minute I have to myself unpacking boxes of SO. MUCH. STUFF. Like, for real I am never going shopping again. (I’m rolling my eyes at myself). But seriously, I have so many knick knacks and the girls have sooooo many books and toys and I feel like we don’t have enough room for all of our stuff! First world problems, right? I guess I should be grateful that we have a beautiful home to put everything in.
Thanksgiving snuck up on me this year and I hardly did any cooking or baking, but I do have an amazing shortbread recipe I am going to be sharing! Stay tuned. I swear it’ll be this year that I share it.
We spent the weekend before Thanksgiving celebrating with Dave’s family, and they always put together a really nice spread. They even put bacon in the stuffing…yuummm. One of my favs for sure. On Thanksgiving Day, we took Phoebe downtown to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade from the 3rd floor hotel room of the Burnham Hotel. It was a ton of fun and Phoebe loved it, especially the Hawaiian fire dancers. She was fixated on them and still talks about the “naked fire dancers”. We ate dinner at my aunt’s house with all the fam and the best part was 1.) having my grandma with us! and 2.) being able to drink wine. Last year I was pregnant with Eloise! Crazy how fast time flies. She’s already 8 months old. 🙁
I hosted my first party in our house and it was a ton of fun. It was my teacher friends’ “Book Club” but we don’t actually read a book, so I guess it’s just a wine night? Anyways, I was so happy to be able to entertain again, because I love it. Planning a menu of desserts, appetizers, and drinks, creating a tablescape, making all the food, putting extra little touches to make guests feel special, all with my Pandora Christmas music blaring in the background is like therapy for me.
More parties to come! Next week I am hosting my first ever essential oil Christmas mixer and I am so excited about it! I have about 4 people who’ve rsvp’d yes so far. This week, I am going to be a vendor at a Girls Night Out event at the salon I go to, and I am going to be selling bath and body products that I’ve made! I’ll also have the Young Living Starter Kit on hand to share with everyone. This will be my first time sharing oils with people and I am a little nervous but more excited than anything. I’ve been using them for over 2 years and think everyone should at least try them once. Hopefully it’ll be a successful night. I am hoping to open an Etsy shop with the scrubs, bath salts, and roller balls I’ve created, but this probably won’t happen until after the holidays.
December has been super busy so far, but I am loving it. We’re in cozy mode and plan on staying in it for the next few months.
All good things.
