My little spring flower.
She has been with us for a little over a month now. Like every parent out there says, where did that time go?
Even though she’s been on this Earth for only 4 weeks, she’s grown so much and her little personality and preferences are starting to come out.
Eloise loves to be held closely all the time. Some days, she will only sleep unless she is being held. She sleeps for hours at night if she’s in bed cuddled up next to me. I sense she will be another co-sleeping baby, and I’m okay with that. I think she might be afraid of the dark, too. She cries when I turn out the light at night if she’s still awake.
She is very expressive. When she sleeps, she makes the cutest faces, she smiles and laughs, and she is very vocal. Her little sighs, coos, squeals, and soft humming noises are music to my ears. When she cries, she puts all of her emotion and soul into it, and it sounds so heartbreaking.
Eloise always sleeps with her mouth open. She will sometimes try to close it when she sleeps, and it always slowly falls back open.
She is super sensitive, too. Her skin is very dry and she has baby acne. She spits up all the time and her little tummy can’t handle too much milk at one time. That being said, she has the loudest man farts I have ever heard! We are constantly changing outfits, diapers, and doing laundry…I can’t keep up!
Night time is still exhausting. She loves to eat, so we’re up every 2-3 hours feeding and burping and changing.
She is weighing in at 10 pounds 8 ounces and is 22 inches long.
Phoebe just loves her sister. She has been a little upset with me lately because she is starting to realize that I am not giving her 100% of my attention, but overall she has been adjusting very well for a 2 year old.
I want her to stay this little forever, and I am also so excited to see who she turns into and what she becomes. Parenthood is so bittersweet that way.
I know that by the time I reflect month 2 with Eloise, she’s going to seem like a completely different baby!
